Classic Apple Dump Cake

  • 1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
  • 1 package (9 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup (1 1/2 stick) butter, cut into thin slices
  • 1/4 teaspoons o ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9 inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray
  2. Spread apple pie filling in prepared pan.  Top with butter in single layer, covering cake mix as much as possible. Sprinkle with cinnamon, ginger and walnuts.
  3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserts into center of cake comes out clean.  Cool at least 15 minutes before serving
