French Toast Box

Serves 1-2

  • ½ loaf uncut white bread
  • ¼ cup Mascarpone
  • ¼ cup Ricotta
  • 1/8 cup maple syrup
  • TBSP cinnamon
  • ½ cup Pecans
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Fry oil enough to cover
  • Garnish with powder sugar & Strawberry
  • Serve with Maple Syrup 
  1. Start by cutting the crust off the unsliced loaf forming a perfect box. 
  2. Using a sharp knife cut a filling hole in the center of what will be the bottom.  Careful not to cut through to the top.
  3. Using a finger expand the inside of the well inside the bread. 
  4. In small mixing bowl combine Mascarpone, Ricotta, Cinnamon, Maple syrup. 
  5. Using a piping bag fill the bread with mixture. 
  6. Crush / grind pecans to a small pebble state
  7. Beat eggs and milk. 
  8. Soak filled bread in egg mixture coat well
  9. Cover bread in crushed pecans evenly making sure to get a nice crust all around. 
  10. Using a deep fryer or medium size pot heat fry oil to 350.  Fry to get a nice dark golden  color.
  11. Finish in a 375 degree oven for 5 minutes
  12. Garnish top with powder sugar and strawberry, serve with maple syrup
