Soy-Garlic Rib-Eye Steak Skewers

Serves 4

Prepping the steak

  • 2 lb Rib Eye Steak, cut into bite size chunks

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup of garlic
  • 1.5 tablespoons minced ginger
  • Half an Asian pear or a whole American pear
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of sesame oil, plus extra for cooking

The marinade:

  1. Put onion, garlic, pear, and half the water in food processor and blend until it becomes a coarse paste.

  2. Pour the paste into a bowl and add soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil and mix all together.

The steak:

  1. Thinly coat a hot skillet with sesame oil
  2. Mix the steak and marinade thoroughly and let sit
  3. Skewer several pieces of steak on a bamboo skewer (soaked in water for 20 minutes so the skewers don't burn)

Cook each skewer for 3-5 minutes depending on the size of the cut and flip half way through cooking.
